Update from inactivity [cross-post]

Man... it's been too long.

It's way more than 8 months of inactivity here, but I've already made an update post earlier on the other blog. Just gonna cross-post it here:

Well this is just... bad.

EIGHT MONTHS + without a single post... it's almost as if I've completely forgotten about the blogs that I've had...

Last update was in April, and its even worse over at the other blog, with the last post on January 23rd. Why the long inactivity? What's the reason this time round?

A few things, actually... One: the unfortunate and 'unavoidable outcome' that has befallen on 2020 as a whole; leading to drastic changes in life... studies, work and whatnot. But it was actually reason number two that affected me more: shifting focus on some old, yet somewhat new experiences and hobbies.

Hell, even then it only lasted for a short while before something else took the reign...

Been at it since last year September, the earliest. Skill so far is not that great, and there's still a lot to learn and improve... so this means tonnes of practice and research. It's not video editing as I put that on hold since April to focus on this new thing... well, 'things' to be more specific; as its actually 2 of them at the very least.

All those months passed and I did have thoughts of updating the blogs, posts and also editing/uploading videos... but was hit with a combination of interest/focus on other things, followed by coping with enormous changes in life due to the state of the world in 2020 plus general laziness after getting invaded with waay too many assignments, projects and work.

In reality, the one thing that really screwed up my time was the abundance of work and changes that had happened lately... lots of sleepless nights and chasing deadlines... after all that ordeal, I just got tired and lazy... especially when there's like 2 different sets to worry about.

Now I took out some time from my schedule to give myself some free time, but its not that long though; only less that 2 weeks. Afterwards its back to endless assignments and work! Still adjusting to the new things that's been going on in my life; hopefully I can make Saturdays/Sundays free days next year, and not the mess that happened this year with too many nights staying up late and shit.

Sadly even with the 2 free weeks, I still have some work left to be done. Gonna shift those towards the weekend if I can for now.

Well... better late than never, I guess... and that's enough ranting for today I suppose.

But! There's some good news. I still have 3 videos from Acceleration of SUGURI 2 recorded back in March/April waiting to be edited and uploaded, plus some other games that I've recorded that can be posted here AND also the other blog. I think I can get at least one AoS2 and the other game posts before this year ends. Posts for the other blog might need to wait slightly longer though, but it will be plentiful soon, judging by the amount of zombie-like games recorded. Will be cross-posting this there, though.

Speaking of games... I think the World of Tanks stuff might be coming to a halt for now; my interest in the game has steadily been dropping off. Guess that means no more World of Tanks videos from now on. Like how Dead Frontier videos are no longer a thing in the other blog, too.

And I guess that's all that I wanted to type down as of now. Funny thing is, I was expecting this year to be the year that really change me... wasn't expecting all of this in the slightest....

So from that whole shebang of text, posts will be made here too... but much more later as I'll be posting all that I needed to on the other blog. Not to worry, though... there's a lot of videos recorded that were specifically zombie-themed games, and I specifically chose those types to be recorded just for this. I counted about 7 videos stocked up, while the rest is for the other blog...

Been thinking about updating both blogs at the same time with the video editing/uploads and blog posts, but not sure how that will turn out. The only exception is posts like ones here as they're mostly around for updates.

Here's hoping I stick to my planned schedule, so that these 2 weeks will be smooth sailing...

The First Dead Frontier 2 Video!

Welp... supposed to get this done yesterday, but oh well...

Finally; the first ever Dead Frontier 2 video that I've recorded thus far. Pretty long, but that's because I chose the worst building to enter for my first time in DF2.

Worst way to die, period.

And now, the explanations...

So what took me +3 weeks to get just one video out? Well, turns out I ran into some "technical difficulties" when I finally had some free time to do the video edits/processing; the damn software ran into some errors that took me quite a handful of work to get it fixed.

See, I'm no longer using Windows Movie Maker for my edits... it's great, and provided me with the basics that I needed. But it also has a major drawback: constant crashing/lags and a significant drop in video quality once processed, no matter how much you adjust.

Been using another software, it's been a pleasure to use thus far.

It does hang/crash occasionally, but it at least it's not like... for every 30 minutes or so. Plus, I can do plenty of other stuff that I can't do over at WMM... it's just a massive upgrade for me.

Anyways, the problem that I ran into prevents me from even launching the software... so figuring out the problem is much more tougher there. Too many days spent doing nothing but searching for solutions online, making sure they're legit and not outdated.

I could just use WMM back again for video processing, but I'd rather not suffer through the pain I had from previous uses just for that.

Found the solution at last, but it requires adjusting some other software that the video editing software uses. No problem there...

...except that it broke plenty of other things instead. *sigh*

Well then, now we got a multitude of other software problems to handle. Plenty of re-installs and restarts later, everything seems to be working as intended. But that's not the end of it...

Nvidia decided to fuck up for some reason, preventing me from using it's 'record current game/program' feature. Then we got the computer's fan 'software problem' to fix as well...

These past two weeks has been a pain. I felt like a damn tech support, except I have questions, but I had to find the solutions myself and also fix them. At least everything's back to normal again... I hope.

Aaannd by then, it's already the 29th of September. Took about 3-4 hours to get this video processed, and was already late in the night [or early in the morning?] at 4 AM. Time to hold off the post till tomorrow, then...

And then here we are! Video processed, uploaded to YouTube, and blog post is done, with added rant at the end, too...

Well, all just in time before September ends. No need for anyone to wake me up for that [props if you get the reference!] There's still another two videos left, but I'm not sure I want to post them here, let alone process and upload them; they're just me going through the starting areas, doing simple missions.

Yeah, I think it's better if I upload something else instead... maybe boss fights. I've been leveling up pretty steadily since the video, so it could work out. Can't promise on whether they'll actually be done, though...

Wow, that's quite the wall-o-text I've got here... I think that's enough for now. Stay tuned for an update, but since the busy period's back, it'll probably be a while before another post drops...

Three Freakin' Months

Yup, that long.

Except this is the Dead Frontier Blog, so it's actually four months, not three.

It's been a long time, but it's good to be back once again. It's seems that everything is pretty much the same in Dea-

WAIT WUT?! An actual fuckin' update for Dead Frontier?!

I thought that day would never arrive again. Seriously.

But it's good that I'm wrong about it. It looks like there's going to be some new content that's going to be updated to the game sometime in the future. But now we can run the game at our desktops? I guess that's kinda of an improvement.

Aaaaand of course, the usual monthly Limited Edition weapons and armor. Can't be Dead Frontier without it.

Hmm... It also seems that the mighty Wraithkanone is available for purchase. But the price... my god.

No way on Earth or in Heaven or Hell or the Universe am I ever gonna fork out that much for a weapon. No. Fucking. Way. EVER.

It's also the unlimited ammo version. That gun costs around $800 [or more!] in my currency. That's just ridiculous. I mean, the other stuff were high costing but some were already boderline expensive. This one takes the whole damn cake... No, the whole damn bakery filled with cakes.

I guess after being away so long doesn't really change Dead Frontier that much. I estimate this game becoming dead in less than five years. Yes, somewhere below 2020. That'll truly take the 'Dead' from Dead Frontier.

Truth is, it's already started to suck midway through 3D DF era. Sad, but true for my case. Maybe most of it is due to the fact that I just like 2D DF more.

Anyways, I guess that was all the updates on Dead Frontier. It's great to be back, but damn it feels awful to see the death of Dead Frontier slowly coming true. I don't know when I'll be putting up the next post, but we'll see what I've got... same goes for Dead Frontier.

Upcoming Weapons [plus armor & clothing] - Part 2

Alright, back to the updates.

Last on the Weapons List are the explosives. [grenade launchers]

6. Explosives

This thing's name is the Boomer PX. This is the highest damaging grenade launcher created. Looks similar to...

The Plasma Rifle from Fallout 3/NV. Maybe not to others, but it kinda looks like it to me.

Now we venture to the various armor that will be on their way to DF.

7. Armor & Clothing

First, we'll start off with the meshes. [light armor/ no strength]

Hazard Mesh's the name. The first mesh to have 80% Damage Absorption, which is equal to the Exterminator Reactive XT... but not for the Durability, for course. Now for the mask...

Looks creepy, like a murderer. But overall, what do I think the armor resembles?

This, the HEV Suit from the Half Life series. Maybe not, but the fact that both looks alike in a small way.

Time for the heavy armor. [100 strength]

The Scarab Reactive. First non Dusk armor to get 90% absorption. The mask...

Now this definitely resembles another mask. A LOT. A lot like...

The Remnants Power Helmet from Fallout New Vegas, and also from Fallout 2.

The one from DF is only missing the tubes from the top and the filter on the side. The "mouth" is also closed. [if it can even be closed in the first place, 'cause it looks to be fixated]

Then, there's the ridiculously high durability armor...

The Vengeance Guard. Just look at the durability yourself. And also, the mask...

Doesn't remind me of any game I've played before, so yeah...

But wait! There's also another one...

This one has no name yet, as from what certain DF players said from the Leaked Updates forum page. The armor has not been coded into the game, but only it's picture exists. This one looks cool, but from the design, it COULD be a new Dusk gear, 'cause of the dark grey color it has.

Speaking of Dusk Gears, those gears have gotten a slight buff. I may not have gotten Dusk Gear yet, and I'm already quite unhappy that it has been missing it's share of TLC from Admin. They could be buffed more, or add plenty more Dusk Gear in.

This is because these gears are supposedly "the hardest gears to earn" in the game, as you have to have your LVL maxed out [220] or be the top PVP player to access the shop for a week. [i think it's a week]

But with the addition of new outrageous gears being added, the Dusk Set seems... underpowered. Sure, there's the Dusk Enforcer with infinite ammo, the 999 magazine and fast reload of the Dusk MAG and the 90% absorption of the Dusk Reactive... but still, the rest in the gear seems to be mostly ignored 'cause they don't have any special abilities that attracts people.

Hell, people now even go for the GAU instead of the Dusk MAG just because it's on sale again.

Several new bosses are going to join the game sometime in the game, like Flaming Dogs, Longarms and even Flaming Black Titans.

The last one is just speculation, but if it's true, then it's outrageous. Double everything you got from the Black Titan and this is what you'll get.

Instead of repeating zombie models, why not add some work to the new bosses? Like I dunno... the return of the Behemoth, perhaps? Add crows like in 2D to go along with the Dogs? New exterior/ interior instead of the usual looking ones? Add back that one special Helicopter Crash Site from 2D? [not those crashed Apaches]

Or maybe Public Toilets?

Whatever it is, we can't really do anything about it. Only the Admin can.

I guess that's all now. See ya next time....

Teh Screencapz

Hello there peeps,

Got around to getting a screenie of Greg's comment in DF3DDB.

Here it is:

Lol, that comment at the top.

Turns out in Windows 7, you cant screen-cap with a push of a button [PrintScreen] but I can do that with my old laptop...which is also in Windows 7. Funny... maybe it's just the school computer's "restrictions".

It uses something called a "Snipping Tool". Works differently and it's like Paint. You select a section you wanna take and save it.

Honestly, the older way is MUCH easier. ^~^

And whaddya mean "old laptop"? I thought that was you're only one!

I got a new one. [Hellz yea! 1/2 achievement completed!]

Pretty tough to get it though. Had to wait till the last day of the sale, 'cause SOMEONE apparently said that "in the last day, they'll probably sell them off at extremely low prices because they want to get rid of all of it"

To simply put it, "last day always lelong one"

Hell, lelong stands for bargain, I think. Forgive me but I suck so much at my foreign language. English is easier. lol.

Oh, but noOOOoooo... When we get there, the only ones left are craptops. Y'know, the ones that CAN'T EVEN RUN A FLASH GAME SMOOTHLY?!

So I have no choice but to buy a 3rd Gen I5 Laptop from Hewlett Packard. It should be easy to know what computer brand it is, right?

I coulda get that 3rd Gen I7 Laptop [which costs $1299] instead. Why I want that one?

Oh I dunno, it has like... FREE UPGRADE and Printer. And it's 15".

Ahh but what the hell. I have brought what I can, so I might as well not bitch 'bout it. When the time has come, [by that I mean working + 'nuff money] then maybe I'll get that sweet Lenovo Laptop [4th Gen I7!!!] that comes in with an ULTRADOCK.

Basically it's a dock [duh] that can be swapped on the go between 3 docks: CD/DVD Drive, Extra Fan or DUAL GRAPHICS. Sounds awesome... when you're playing a graphic-heavy game, switch to Dual Graphics Dock. When playing a typically balanced game, [for long hours] switch to Extra Fan Dock.

...Honestly, the CD/DVD Drive Dock is not that useful. 'Cuz most of my games are...well, don't make me say it.

I guess that's it then. I still have 3 more weeks in college before I'm outta this stinkin' course-of-a wast'a time...

An Eternity

Hoho, what have we here now...

Super long delay much? There's specific reasons fer that though. And what is the reason?

PROJECTS. LOTS AND LOTS OF PROJECTS.

I thought it had ended, y'know? But the whole class had to drag their asses back to school again to do long projects. Each person must do at least three projects and they must be at least eight minutes and not longer than 15 minutes of project presentation.

Oh, and I got quite bored of Dead Frontier... just sayin'.

There's not even a REAL update in the game, other than the usual LEWs [Limited Edition Weapon] and LEEs [Limited Edition Equipment] that pop up every now and then.

For God's sake Admin, this is a MMO. It's got to have updates that is interesting, like events, new places/bosses/enemies, not just new weaponry and equipment. I've see people from newbies to respected/famous players of the game, like Greg Stevens getting fed up with his attitude towards the game.

He's known in 2D to be one of the few to reach LVL 200. I even found a post of his at the Dead Frontier Development Blog. This is what I've found:

Greg Stevens29 July 2013 14:38

He lost me a year ago. I just check the blog to see if something interesting comes up. All i have seen so far is events, events, and more events. I like DF but the lack of updates makes it crap.

I feel the same way.
I mean the game is good but the lack of updates is what makes it boring for people quickly. And sorry if I can't screen-cap it, I can't screen-cap in Windows 7. Instead, I'll put up the blog page of it.

And besides projects, I've been busy playing a game I've waited for some time now.

What's the game I'm playing you might be thinking? It's Dead Island Riptide!

Awesome game, that sadly turns boring once you completed the whole MAIN campaign. [Maybe that's just for me though]

I've actually played Dead Island before so I know how to get around in the game. Just 28 Hours into the game and I'm LVL 58 with my favorite one-hit killing weapon: A Calibrated Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle. I'm actually using the same color as what the text for this weapon is. It's basically a SVD Dragunov.

It kinda looks like that. Mine has a whopping base DMG [Damage] of 2316! Thugs go down in three hits and Screamers are dead in two hits, if they are headshots of course. Critical hit shots on the head kills 'em with only one shot.

But I'm not done with the game yet. I plan to explore more and see if Riptide has secrets like the first Dead Island made. I won't tell you what the secrets are, but if ya wanna know, ya gonna haf'ta look fer it yerselves.

And this is not the temporary computer, but I'm actually doing this at school now.

So, I guess that's it then. I have to get back to doing my projects...

Busy

Hello again people,

Well, well, lookie here. It's been about 6 days since the last activity here. The reason? SCHOOL.

Not really school though. It's like a training center for future job listings. Under what job? Heh... guess it yourself. The place itself is pretty secure, that's all can tell so far. [Nope, it's not MIT]

Random Person: "He's lying. Clearly he's been lazying around all day...herpderp"

Nope. Not one bit.

I have to get my ass up every weekday at about 10am. Then, be at the pickup point by 11am. Work [and studying] takes up to 7pm before the bus arrives at 7:15pm to pick us up and drop us back at the drop off point. [No, not in front of our houses, if you're thinking]

What do I do when I arrive back home? Play some DF WHILE recording the gameplay. That's right, now I have about four unedited videos just sitting around waiting to be uploaded to YouTube. Have to sleep by midnight or else I won't have enough energy for some work the next day.

So yeah, weekend = break. But not really. I still have stuff to do every Sunday... What is it I do on that day?

Studying. Studying in almost anything that might be useful.

Yeah, that's practically the update. Just to let y'all know that I'm not dead for like another year...

See ya around next time!

New Videos

Hello people,

So I have some news today. The second video [Dead Frontier 3D Precinct 13 Area] was gone! Might been removed or something like that, but I don't know.

But I've made a new YouTube account. Currently posted two videos there, with first one titled "Dead Frontier 3D 'Big Tongues' Mission - boredom after mission" and second one [which lasts about 25+ mins!] is titled "Dead Frontier 3D Fort Pastor Outpost Attack - Full 25 mins OA".

Might make more DF videos, but once that netbook of mine is repaired, I can't use this laptop anymore. And did I mention that my netbook SUCKS AT LOADING DF? I meant like it's literally slower to play DF on that piece of shit than to play DF here. ["here" as in this temporary computer]

Why is it so damn hard to get a decent enough computer around here? "-_-

So I'll be posting one of those videos tomorrow [or maybe today] but I can't confirm yet. New school week and several new projects have start popping up. What fun... [not]

But that netbook can still handle some decent games, like L4D [and L4D2] Fallout [1,2,3,NV] and the infamous Counter Strike Source. [for mods] Some may be a bit laggy to play, but still it's playable. Just one thing that I don't understand about this netbook:

WHY CANT YOU PLAY FLASHGAMES/DEADFRONTIER SMOOTHLY?!

I mean seriously, I can play Fallout 3/NV with little lags. But almost every flashgame screws up and lags like a bitch... not to mention DF in it too. Now this is a problem 'cause how am I gonna upload DF videos if it lags alot? I'm pretty sure that if I play the game while recording, the performance will drop a hell lot more. But, I'll give it a round if that crapbook is done with the repairs.

Hopefully, that netbook can't be repaired and I'll be able to get a NEW COMPUTAH!

Argh, I rant too much on this... Didn't know I typed down this much in one go.

Well, see you around in the next post!
