Dead Frontier 2 Development Updates Recap: May - August

Welp... there's a lot to cover here, so let's get on it.

May 30th, 2018

Technically June, but whatever...

Dead Frontier 2's Early Access launch date was revealed, and it's on the 31st of August. AdminPwn wanted to release it sooner [July or possibly June] but decided against it. The game still required some more work before it can be released with acceptable quality.

And now, the Alpha Test. Testers will be picked from the Dead Frontier 2 Discord server, and it'll most likely be those that are somewhat active. The Alpha Test phase will begin around the middle of June.

Then there's the Dead Frontier 1 > Dead Frontier 2 Cosmetic Rewards. The rewards can be earned by reaching several milestones in the game, like getting a Dusk Enforcer if you have a maxed level DF1 account.

Looks slick; really captures the DE's look from DF1 quite well.

The most basic milestone rewards is the Nomad Armor set. You get the boots and gloves at level 20, the leg piece at level 50, the body piece at level 100 and the mask at level 200.

Not a bad looking set; will be seeing plenty of these during release.

So yeah... even those who didn't spend a dime in DF1 can earn something outta this. I have yet to reach a certain level which I've planned to get to for a long time, so maybe I'll make a small push towards it now...

...if I have the time, that is.

Plenty more screenshots of the rewards over at the Creaky Corpse blog post, linked below.

Gameplay Footage, Rewards, Release Day & More!

6th July, 2018

A trailer for the game has been created...

Admin was hard at work with the game during the last few weeks. Most of it was bug fixing and polishing up the game.

There were some features left to be implemented before Early Access arrives, just some non-essential items like support system, the DF1 reward system, name reservation and achievements. Closed Alpha Test would begin the next day.

He originally planned the EA version of the game to be 100% completed as of that date, and that he can place his focus on marketing and hyping the game up. But this wasn't achieved as he had stuff left to do, like bug fixes and responding to Alpha Test feedback.

Then we have some new screenshots, they look good as before.

More over at original post, so I recommend checking that out. Links below...

Official Trailer, New Screenshots and More

5th August, 2018

A 10-ish minute video of raw gameplay footage was posted, showing what many people people wanted to see.

Alpha Testing went well, and any problems, issues or bugs found/encountered was quickly taken care of.

About less than a month away from the game's release, and there's still stuff to be done. The game is still slated to be released on 31st August regardless.

DF1 > DF2 reward system is currently his main focus, and should be ready within a few days.

8th August, 2018

The rewards system was done, and now DF1 players can link their emails and receive milestone rewards.

It's mainly a set of instructions and additional info on how to set up the link, and also some important info about the link-up.

29th August, 2018

And here we are at the most recent update...

Basically, the game was pushed back to September 5th. Issues with the servers caused for some extra work needed to be done, and releasing the game either way on 31st August will be a very bad move. So in order to avoid disaster on launch day AND to properly set everything up again, the game will be delayed.

Most of the time was used to clear out as many bugs as he could find. He could rush and still make it to the promised launch date, but that'll be devastating to him and his game if things go south.

As he said, "Releasing on the 31st will probably mean super slow servers, tons of bugs that could lead to lots negative reviews. It's just not worth risking it."

So it ends there. There's about a day left before the game goes live, so there's that.

Pretty excited to see what's in store for us. I know there's plenty of DF2 videos around already, but I prefer to experience everything first-hand. Don't wanna ruin the first few moments!

And that's all there is to it. Sorry if this post seems very... empty. It's currently 2:30 AM here, and I haven't really been getting regular sleep since I had a rather busy moment these past few days.

Nevertheless, I'm still waiting for the release of Dead Frontier 2. Should be a good one... I wonder if I should record some gameplay to be posted here? Maybe I'll think about it...

Until then, stay tuned. Here's to the release of DF2 soon!

Dead Frontier 2 Development Updates Recap: February - May

Aaand we're back...

I'm already up to date with the current posts/updates for Dead Frontier 2 even before these recent posts, it's just that time wasn't on my side to make posts about them here. Nevertheless, I feel like taking a dive down the updates and posts so far from February till August. Now, let's take a trip down history...

Let's start from where we left off...

February 18th, 2018

It seems like there was an update just 8 days after my post, and it's about Dead Frontier 2's Steam Page going live.

AdminPwn then had to make a short gameplay video, as per Steam's requirements. You can check it out at the Creaky Corpse Blog, link below.

DF2 Gameplay Video, Steam Page & Release News

And here's the Steam page for Dead Frontier 2 below...

Dead Frontier 2 Steam Page

The release date was changed from April 2018 to July 2018, or somewhere close to that. As stated in my February 10th post; a delayed game to make it complete is better than a rushed mess, but we also can't be placing too many delays.

Not everyone is patient, and some are quick to flip out when even the slightest hiccup happens. Luckily, no one was angry about delays for a much completed/polished game.

Option B was chosen, which is to release a 'closed alpha test' in April and have a small group to test the game. We'll get back to this later in June...

Anyways, the game's got some progress done. Some improvements are: Active skills such as kicking/sneaking/dodging, Missions and NPC/boss systems were complete and the game's UI and menu designs has been finished.

Kicking is pretty useful to give yourself some breathing room if the zombies get too close, dodging is self-explanatory and sneaking is something I imagine working out like Fallout 3/NV/4 type sneaking mechanics.

March 30th, 2018

The most interesting update to the Dead Frontier 2 development blog; potato mode.

What is it? Well, it's basically the most basic graphic settings available in the game; disables most of the settings available. And lemme tell ya, that's a life-saver right there.

If I was still using my ol' craptop, the last option will come in useful...

I'm not even joking... throughout my years of living, the games I've used to play were pretty low-spec. Granted, I did play Fallout 3/NV on a freaking netbook once... but that's beside the point.

The point is that not everyone has a beefed-up supercomputer that can run everything at 60 FPS 4K. The laptop I'm using should be able to handle the game around Medium settings, but it's always nice to have a backup "basic" mode lying around.

Now, to the other set of news...

Servers. This is also a pleasant thing to see, now the servers used should be able to handle up to 20K [that's 20,000] players at launch.

But the best part about this update is multiple servers across the globe. No more will we have that damned "no-hit" lag which caused me to play Singleplayer Mode while playing DF3D. Servers located in North America, United Kingdom, Poland, South America and Singapore. That's quite a lot of coverage; missing only the Middle Eastern/African areas, Russia, China, Canada and of course, Australia.

Not sure if these other zones will have their own servers, but it'll probably be implemented only if the playerbase in said areas are quite big.

Work on the game is going well, as written by AdminPwn. There's only a handful of features missing from the game, and he plans to complete them by Summer. The missing features were Clan Systems, Competitions, Item-to-Item Trading, Outpost Attacks and Barricading.

So far his focus is on the game's core aspects; like looting, hunting zombies, missions, boss fights and level ups. This is to make the game as fun and engaging as possible on release.

And then we have some screenshots. The game's looking good as from previous screenshots...

I think the rain effects look amazing, same goes for the fire FXs.

A sneak-peak at the character screen; note the multiple characters you can have.

5th May, 2018

We're greeted to a sneak peak of a boss players might encounter out in the game; the Tendril.

These 'painfully fast' freaks are back again in DF2...

A DF3D enemy that's notorious for being a pain in the neck, along with Spiders due to it's speed and quick attacks. They also deal quite the damage, too...

And now the Tendril's here in DF2 as a boss. This is going to hurt...

Anyways...

Some changes in the plans; AdminPwn decided to launch the game as an 'Early Access' tittle on Steam, as he doesn't want to delay the game any further. The plan is to have an Alpha Testing period first to for bug-fixes/internal testing before rolling out the Early Access. The missing features from March 30th's post will be done later down the line.

I suppose this is okay, at least there's a closed Alpha Test before the Early Access release. Think of it as "Open Beta" for the Early Access that's free and not one of those DayZ types of 'Early Access'.

Then there's the Dead Frontier 2 Discord server that was set up to interact with players/fans better. I wanted to join in on this, but busy schedule kinda got in the way... plus, I don't really use Discord nowadays... unless I'm playing/chatting with friends.

And then there's some other development news: the amount of players in multiplayer instances was increased from 4 to 8, effectively doubling the amount. This is to make it feel more like an MMO rather than a co-op survival game.

There was also a sale at the one of the server companies' Singapore data-center, so Admin took the chance to get some extra servers. These new ones should help with the ping for folks over in Australia and East Asia.

Last but not least; some awesome concept art. There's quite a selection, but I'm gonna go ahead and pick just one that I fancy...

Looks like an early 'Reaper'...

Check out the rest of the concept art over at the Creaky Corpse blog post, link below...

Dead Frontier 2: Tendril Boss, Concept Art & More!

And that's all for this post! There's still a bunch to cover, so stay tuned for that.

An Actual Update For Dead Frontier!

Yep... thought things stagnated to a P2W wasteland over there...

Nah, I'm just kiddin', things in Dead Frontier are still asinine as it was when I left... which is bad. No, the actual update to Dead Frontier is not in the game itself BUT to a little post that appeared some time ago.

Heck, I only knew about this through a Dead Frontier Newsletter... I wouldn't have known about it otherwise if that wasn't the case.

So without anymore stalling, here's the following newsletter that I've received.

It's not that long, but it's also not the full announcement.

There's more in the message, but it's only a link to the actual announcement and the website to the upcoming game: Dead Frontier 2. [or more specific, Dead Frontier II]

Yeah, you read that right: Dead Frontier TWO. A second one, with the goal of making it less Pay-to-progress and more like the old Dead Frontier 2D [or known today as DF Classic]

Here's the links to the actual announcement, and also the website for Dead Frontier 2 if you're too lazy to type 'em down yourself...

Dead Frontier 2 Official Announcement

Dead Frontier 2

So, it seems like the game has been in development for quite some time now and is scheduled for release on April 2018, as it is "nearing completion".

The real eye-catching stuff is the features that will be available on launch, and I'll be going through them one-by-one.

"An all in one game client, nothing runs in the browser"

So, what this will be is that the whole game is run through just one place. No switching from the web browser "Outpost" using the soon-outdated Flash and to the actual game "Inner City" using whatever game engine AdminPwn is using for the new game [hopefully not Unity again, please!]

"No more P2W. Cosmetic and utility upgrades only (and still free to play)"

This. This here is the one that will fix about most of what's wrong with Dead Frontier nowadays. It's pretty self explanatory, really... no Uberkanone for decimating everything with ease for 1/3 of your bank's balance or some Wonderdrug for a small sum of Gazillion dollars.

"Cosmetics only" makes me worry as today's games have that section under LOOTBOXES. Let's hope that's not in the game... if it does end up in the game, at least implement it well.

"A brand new 4-player multiplayer system that focuses on player experience above all else."

Very reminiscent of the old Dead Frontier 2D. "No more glitched zombies" essentially means no more damage lag or not even registering and stuff like that. This is also backed up well with the introduction off...

"A lobby system, making it easy to find and create game instances"

Now we're really goin' down the ol' 2D route. The old lobby is back with a maximum of 4 players. I can see it now; Lobby Rooms with the names "loot" and "grind" will be back, with a new addition: "bosshunt".

"A totally new skill system, giving the player a meaningful way to improve their character with every level up"

This is very hard to know what exactly is "new and improved" in this section, but the only way we'll know more is by playing the game... or until an update post for Dead Frontier 2 appears down the line.

"Complex stats system giving almost endless build variety"

This just means that you can mix and match anything your little heart desires to make your own ideal Survivor. Won't know more until we get more updates on DF2.

"A more immersive over-the-shoulder camera angle"

Just simply put, third person-ish gameplay. This is somewhat mixed, as some will prefer the 'bird's view' or 'top-down view' of the past games, but I'm kinda looking forward to how it plays out. "PREPARE FOR JUMPSCARES!!!" is all I can say.

"Modern current gen graphics"

This puts my "Unity-phobia" at rest... a better looking game that doesn't look lazily made should indicate usage of more better game engines... at least I hope. IF it still uses Unity, then no fear... it's been proven over time that some games can look, feel and run great with the Unity engine... be it a 2D game or 3D.

"Procedural game world that re-generates daily, giving a far more replayable experience"

Giving life to the Inner City? That is a good move, as it essentially makes it feel like an open world game. Making a game "more replayable" can indicate a good and a bad thing, though. The good being that players are much less susceptible to boredom quickly and the bad being far too many shit to do that it gets overwhelming.

"Realistic post-apocalyptic trading system with multiple markets, currencies and taxes"

Hmm... more than one Marketplace or either different market for different services. And currently there's only two currencies in Dead Frontier; Cash [in-game currency] and Credits [Premium game currency]. So maybe they'll use more than just these two, like for example bottlecaps?

"Taxes" doesn't sound good... but I'm guessing it's because of several different Outpost's rules? You are setting up business in a safe place after all, so it's like rent and stuff like that.

"Notice board for missions"

This. This is also another that will fix current Dead Frontier's problems. A place where you can get missions is just a major improvement than the sudden "mission pop-up" we have now. Another classic from 2D returning, that's two now. Hopefully you can get more than just one mission, though.

"Upgradeable vehicles"

Whoa... now this is something new to DF2. This indicates vehicles that we can acquire and upgrade. I see this going both ways, though... like it's just a means to fast travel and upgrading vehicles lets you go further or something like that. Hopefully it ends up as an actual vehicle that you can control fully and not a "service" type niche.

"Upgradeable weapons"

Also new to DF2. Maybe it might work similarly to current DF's "master/godcarfted" items, but I think not. Instead, I think this indicates things like attachments for weapons. Silencers and scopes will finally work now, if that is implemented.

"Crafting system"

You all should know what this is by now. Again, it could also be a good and a bad thing. Looks like there's something else to add into the list of "what to loot"... I'm guessing this will have use under the "upgreadeable vehicles/weapons" section, maybe more!

And finally...

"True survival horror"

"not just mindless action!" indicates a shift back to the old 2D Dead Frontier, as that game has some form of "survival horror" feel to it. There's zero horror elements in Dead Frontier 3D, but lots of mindless action. That's three things that they decided to pick up from the old DF2D, and that is just good.

Like I said in one of the previous sections; prepare for jumpscares. Although I think it won't be everywhere until it gets annoying, though. Just those little "oh shit!" momments that you might have in the old 2D... a random zombie appearing in the same room you're in, just to name one instance.

And that's all there was about the features in the upcoming Dead Frontier 2... now back to other things...

Three ideas that the old 2D had, but they're missing another three: Outpost Attack [defense?], the old "points of interest" like the 'Original Crashed Helicopter' and 'Death Row' and the old enemies of 2D like Crows or even the Behemoth...

Now that was just one small section of the announcement. There's plenty more in there, but I'm just looking into some of the more important details.

Like under the FAQs section, there's mention of unique cosmetic rewards for several "milestones" reached in the current DF that will be given to players in DF2. Sad to say that out of all the milestones listed there, I'm only eligible for about 2 of them.

Some important things to note are that your current DF account name will be [or can be] reserved for DF2, so no one can steal or impersonate you [for whatever reason], but it'll probably under some transfer/reserve system that will go down before DF2 is released... and that the current DF won't be shut down and is not discontinued. In fact, it might even get updates down the road. and we all know how DF3D updates' go...

So DF3D gets to live on normally but DF2D gets to live on at half-life? I would prefer 2D back on, but that's way overdue.

Then there's also the story on how the idea for DF2 came about. It's worth the read, so I recommend doing so over there.

Overall, I'm somewhat excited because of some 2D idea implementations... but also wary about this whole thing as it might go bad. But one's thing for sure; I'm keeping my eyes on this until it fully releases.

And that's all for this post for now. It's been almost forever since I've last updated, but there's just not many I can do here as I've been mostly in World Of Tanks. In fact, I still have more than 6 videos and many other posts to make there. But with this sudden news of DF2 out, I'll at least be able to do something here once in a while.

So, let's see how this goes, huh...

Upcoming Weapons [plus armor & clothing] - Part 2

Alright, back to the updates.

Last on the Weapons List are the explosives. [grenade launchers]

6. Explosives

This thing's name is the Boomer PX. This is the highest damaging grenade launcher created. Looks similar to...

The Plasma Rifle from Fallout 3/NV. Maybe not to others, but it kinda looks like it to me.

Now we venture to the various armor that will be on their way to DF.

7. Armor & Clothing

First, we'll start off with the meshes. [light armor/ no strength]

Hazard Mesh's the name. The first mesh to have 80% Damage Absorption, which is equal to the Exterminator Reactive XT... but not for the Durability, for course. Now for the mask...

Looks creepy, like a murderer. But overall, what do I think the armor resembles?

This, the HEV Suit from the Half Life series. Maybe not, but the fact that both looks alike in a small way.

Time for the heavy armor. [100 strength]

The Scarab Reactive. First non Dusk armor to get 90% absorption. The mask...

Now this definitely resembles another mask. A LOT. A lot like...

The Remnants Power Helmet from Fallout New Vegas, and also from Fallout 2.

The one from DF is only missing the tubes from the top and the filter on the side. The "mouth" is also closed. [if it can even be closed in the first place, 'cause it looks to be fixated]

Then, there's the ridiculously high durability armor...

The Vengeance Guard. Just look at the durability yourself. And also, the mask...

Doesn't remind me of any game I've played before, so yeah...

But wait! There's also another one...

This one has no name yet, as from what certain DF players said from the Leaked Updates forum page. The armor has not been coded into the game, but only it's picture exists. This one looks cool, but from the design, it COULD be a new Dusk gear, 'cause of the dark grey color it has.

Speaking of Dusk Gears, those gears have gotten a slight buff. I may not have gotten Dusk Gear yet, and I'm already quite unhappy that it has been missing it's share of TLC from Admin. They could be buffed more, or add plenty more Dusk Gear in.

This is because these gears are supposedly "the hardest gears to earn" in the game, as you have to have your LVL maxed out [220] or be the top PVP player to access the shop for a week. [i think it's a week]

But with the addition of new outrageous gears being added, the Dusk Set seems... underpowered. Sure, there's the Dusk Enforcer with infinite ammo, the 999 magazine and fast reload of the Dusk MAG and the 90% absorption of the Dusk Reactive... but still, the rest in the gear seems to be mostly ignored 'cause they don't have any special abilities that attracts people.

Hell, people now even go for the GAU instead of the Dusk MAG just because it's on sale again.

Several new bosses are going to join the game sometime in the game, like Flaming Dogs, Longarms and even Flaming Black Titans.

The last one is just speculation, but if it's true, then it's outrageous. Double everything you got from the Black Titan and this is what you'll get.

Instead of repeating zombie models, why not add some work to the new bosses? Like I dunno... the return of the Behemoth, perhaps? Add crows like in 2D to go along with the Dogs? New exterior/ interior instead of the usual looking ones? Add back that one special Helicopter Crash Site from 2D? [not those crashed Apaches]

Or maybe Public Toilets?

Whatever it is, we can't really do anything about it. Only the Admin can.

I guess that's all now. See ya next time....

Upcoming Weapons

Finally, back to the blog.

In my last post, I said that I "Will put up the others if I get the chance...", as in the other weapons and armor.

Please note that some of these items might be Unique, so they'll naturally cost more and will be available for a certain amount of time.

Let's start things off with the usual first item on the list...

1. Melee

This right here is the Gut Splitter. Looks like an iron, kinda. Try renaming it to the "Iron Death". lol. The next one in melee weapons is the chainsaw.

The Grinder X3 right here. Looks similar to the Ripsaw, But more... better.

2. Pistol

Only one in this section.

Right here's the Desert Rat. A modified Desert Eagle [or known as the Desert Fox in-game] with a heatsink "to prevent the from exploding". Kinda reminds me of two weapons from another game...

I would say it looks like the 10mm Pistol from Fallout 'cause of the slide, but...

This would be more accurate. The 12.7mm Pistol [or the 14mm Pistol] has the heatsink [at least I think it is] and the pistol grip is more like a revolver. Maybe place the heatsink to the 10mm?

3. Rifles

Ah, one of my favorite weapon classes. Also one only in the section.

The Longshot PP10 is a beast. Judging from the stats, it will mostly one-shot tons of zombies. And that's just speculation, 'cause can't really trust the stats if the weapon itself is not yet released and tested in the field.

"We will turn them into soup!" -Battle Bus

4. Shotguns

Also a favorite for zombie-killing, but practically weak in DF. Again, only one.

This gun right here's the Buckblast 99A. Another vintage weapon, looks like the Winchester 1887 Sawn Off. A nice 'lil rename would be "Buckblasta".

"Hasta la vista, baby" -Guess from where?

5. Machine Guns

Got two in this one. Let's get on it.

The Nine Cutter-X. It has a silencer, but I can bet that's cosmetic, just like the one on the Worg Carbine. It kinda looks like another weapon...

The Sleepytyme. But this gun's Silencer is box-typed, not cylinder-typed. Also kinda looks like...

The Infiltrator [or Perforator], minus the scope, of course. But this would not be close as this gun's an assault rifle.

Speaking of Assault Rifles, there's not even a single new weapon for this class... and the Light Machine Guns, too. But, at least there's a new Minigun.

Get ready for... the Wraith Cannon.

This thing's ridiculous. The damage is rumored to be more than the GAU-19, which is a first. If you don't know, this gun is based on the Civil War Gatling Gun. An example in real life would be like this:

Imagine this gun, removed of the bulky wheeled contraption and modified to be light enough to be wielded. If I'm not wrong, the lever will be removed to implement the usual firing system on usual Miniguns [electric w/ handle and switch]

When talking about this to one of my friends, he said he rather keep the GAU he had. Reason? The GAU-19 is a piece of DF History and by common sense, the Wraithkanone [i like it better like that] will be more expensive than the GAU if it's released. Prolly double the cost? Nobody knows... only Admin, maybe.

Many people will in fact rage, as the GAU came back, and suddenly this shows up. He even showed me a funny clip starring Hitler. Enjoy.

And also, you might have noticed that this is a tribute to a thread. Here's the link:

Leaked Updates Thread - LOG IN FIRST

They have better details about the whole update there, if you're looking for more info.

Heh, these Downfall parodies are mostly funny. [some are crap]

And judging from some of the items in here, Admin's been playing Fallout [or STALKER, 'cause same game style]

Even I miss 2D... Ah well, the others will be posted another time, 'cause there's too much now. See ya soon!

Dead Frontier Update - Part 2

Alright, where were we...

Ah, right... I remember now. It's New Equipment.

3. New Equipment [like that's never enough... and expensive]

Yeah, with more ridiculous prices, too. These are some pictures taken while at the Credit Shop.

First up are my favorite weapon types, melee.

The Dual Blade looks like a medieval weapon. The Goretooth 44G is like the Ripper from Fallout, except more longer.

Next are the pistols. [or pistol]

The Doubleshot AAX is actually a Derringer, a small pocket pistol for protection. Looks vintage, too. Supposed to fit two bullets, but this is a game.

Next is the classic zombie killing weapon, shotguns. [again, or shotgun]

The Ace Barrel GZ3 is also another vintage weapon. Guess it's a single-shot shotgun. [say that three times fast] Just a heads up: the sword below is just cosmetic.

Now is time for the fun guns. The first one is rifles. [rifle...]

The Worg Carbine is [obviously] a carbine. Guess it's a recycled and junk-upgraded Scar-H. [or Scar-L, hard to tell]

Next on the fun guns list is the machine guns.

The Street Dog 99 is a SMG. Looks like an AKS-74U, but that's just a guess. The SCAR 9000 is not a Scar-H or Scar-L, though. It's kinda like a light version of the GAU-19 [go look it up] "9000"... I know of a good rename for this gun: "BFG 9000" [guess from which game?]

Now it's the godly weapon class in the game: explosives [more like only grenade launchers]

The Junker 6 is the junk-upgraded version of the RG-6. Surprisingly holds 24 instead of the usual 6.

Next is one of the most basic items: armor.

I can tell that the Shinobu Mesh is light armor, while the Tatakau Reactive is heavy armor. Tatakau Reactive has 50 more durability than the Steelcase Reactive.

And lastly, the clothing. Better than being naked, unless you like to be naked.

The new masks are the ones from the new armors as well, the Shinobu Mask and the Tatakau Mask. Placed a star on the Gas Mask 'cause it's my favorite.

There's actually more that I've missed, but I'll do them some other time. But you can check 'em out at DFWiki, or with the link down below.

Dead Frontier Weapons

The Armor and Clothing areas are still not updated [as of today]

I guess that's all of 'em. Will put up the others if I get the chance...

Dead Frontier Update

It's finally here...

Yeah, some updates have been implemented into the game prior two days ago. Thought they'll be out next year, ['cause y'know, Admin's usual delays] but it's good that I was wrong on this one.

Time to go through the updates.

1: New Outpost

Rumors have been spreading like wildfire about AdminPwn using the infamous "White Zone/Ground Zero" outpost. But sadly, it's not been used. [damn, looking forward for the Minigun Guards]

Things to mention first: It's mostly recommended that you're at least level 70.

Instead, it's a bunker, Secronom Bunker to be exact. It's kinda unique 'cause it's located in the new zone, and it's an actual bunker. Has about five guards, at least I think it might be five. Here's a screenshot on how it looks like in the game:

Reminds me of a movie that features such a bunker, but I can't recall the title.

It's pretty far, too. Took me 30 minutes to get there from Fort Pastor. ['cause I barely run] Who knows how long it'll take to get there from the other outposts...

Took a screenshot of the map, but will be better if it's a video instead.

Entrance is the first block to the left. Also a screenshot from Fort Pastor position.

The arrow on the top right is where Secronom Bunker is at. Lastly, the interior of the bunker [or menu screen]

It looks more like the interior of a typical building, but don't really cared about how it looks on the menu screen. If viewed from the big map, it should be at the top right corner, close to the end. [if the map is updated already]

2. Extended Inner City and New Enemies

The new outpost is [obviously] at the new extended areas of the map. And [also obviously again] there are new zombies there. Found some of them on the way to Secronom Bunker, but don't know if it's all of them.

First up: Zombie Dogs. [yep, you read that right] Better than Crows, at least. According to the DFWiki, their are called "Dog Zombies, Blood Dogs and Flesh Hounds"

This is the Blood Dog. Didn't took a screenie for the Dog Zombie, sorry 'bout that. Can actually be found at Fort Pastor [same goes for the normal type]

Movement: Fast
Health: Low [two crits from a sabre does the job]
View Range: Small [and I thought dogs have keen sense of smell]
Damage: ???
EXP: ???

Second are their bigger versions found at the "New Zone"

Need to start circling them, else you might not know where it is. Very big in size, but still quite scrawny, like the Bloaters.

Movement: Fucking Fast [more speed than Tendrils]
Health: Medium [just a 'lil health more than the blood dog]
View Range: Small
Damage: ???
EXP: ???
EXTRA: When they spot you, they'll immediately dash towards you [no rainbows, though]

Now comes the Long Armed Zombies. There are two new ones entering the family.

This one's just a darker and more deadlier version that the ones at the Black Zone. Oh, and they run faster AND have longer arms.

Movement: Very Fast [almost to Tendrils]
Health: Medium
View Range: Large
Damage: ???
EXP: ???

Now comes my favorite zombie from the 2D era: Green Long Armed Zombie [GLAZ]

Guess why that sign is there...

Movement: Very Fast [just a 'lil faster than the one above]
Health: High
View Range: Large
Damage: ???
EXP: ???
EXTRA: Vomits

Next is the two new Rumblers. Pretty much just different colors and more health/damage.

The one in the black ring is the dark version of the Rumblers at Black Zone. The one in the orange ring is the Irradiated Rumbler. Explosive sign equals...

Movement: Medium/Fast
Health: High/Very High
View Range: Large
Damage: High [the only one with damage indicated 'cause it exploded on me once]
EXP: ???
EXTRA: Explodes [green rumbler, explode radius is smaller than bloater]

One thing to mention about Green Rumblers, I think they explode when they are close to you, 'cause I died looting the top floor of a hospital just directly below of Secronom Bunker. In that case, we can start calling them "Suiciders" or "Kamikaze Zombies". Got that second one from a game, they shortened it too "kamizombies" instead.

There's also new bosses too. More at the wiki, and with link too if you're lazy.

Dead Frontier Bestiary
