Blog Changes

Hello everyone,

It's great to be back here! Although I've never been anywhere...

Anyways, I'm here to tell you guys about the small change that I've done to all of the blogs... that is bigger video screens.

The YouTube linked videos now are much bigger compared to the minuscule versions from the past. All it needs is a little post editing in the HTML. Seems that there's a TON of fancy stuff that can be edited in the blogs...and I know this ain't a new thing and yes, I sound like an old man...or hippy.

But, I only chose the ones that can benefit these blogs better, like bigger video screens for example.

This doesn't mean that there won't be anymore changes, and it certainly doesn't meant that I'm gonna add everything and anything. That'll be bland or in the second case, a clusterfuck.

Hope this small little adjustment benefits you people viewing the videos around here! Catch ya next time!

...soon hopefully.

New Dead Frontier Video?

Very quick notice,

Dead Frontier video has been cancelled. Don't really feel like doing one right now, but I'll see if one will be made in the future... whenever that will be.

Reason? DF seems very stale nowadays. Barely any updates... AS IN REAL ACTUAL UPDATES, not "new weapons" or those bloody recycled events. Even last year's Christmas event was as boring as the others. Sorry.

Ah well, maybe the DF video will just be mission tips... like those old DF videos I have in my current YouTube account.

Video Tests

Well now,

So far, I've tested with only two video recording software: FRAPS and Bandicam. Tested them in Dead Frontier and you can see the results below.

FRAPS:

Bandicam:

I guess these might be my only recording software I'll use. Bandicam for lengthy and more focused gameplay and FRAPS for quality, 'cause FRAPS always generate a big file. 800 MB per minute for FRAPS while only 150 MB for Bandicam.

The advantages of using FRAPS are crisp video footage, but drawbacks are big file size and affect your game/program a lot. When playing a game, you might get 30 FPS instead of the usual 60 FPS... so that's a big NO if you're recording... let's say a seriously competitive game like COD or WOT and if you have a weak computer.

Advantages of Bandicam are nearly unnoticeable effect it has on your frame rate and small size. Disadvantages are quite blurry recorded videos and sometimes minor stuttering while recording.

There's one more that I thought I'll give a try at, and that is Dxtory. It fuctions like Bandicam, with the unnoticeable frame drops and like FRAPS, with the crisp video footage.

Downsides are files that are almost as big as a FRAPS recorded video... and that it costs quite expensive, too... like 25 euros expensive? [so i've been told?]

But yeah, I guess that can be for another time. As of now it's these two.

"What about Hypercam?" you might ask? Lemme give you my answer:

NO.

Have a lot of bad memories with that one. Very poor video quality only makes it good for tutorial videos. You can see the results of using them in the older DF videos.

I guess that's it, then. Now I just need to make these DF videos and upload them to YouTube... whenever that is gonna be.

Quick Notice

Hello folks,

Just some quick notes here:

1. Now testing with multiple game recording software for best quality [and small size]

2. A new DF video will be uploaded, probably this February.

3. That WoT video? Delayed. A friend of mine apparently wants to make one too.

The most quick thing relating to WoT will probably be a post about it, not sure when I'll get around to doing one. Videos of it will be as stated in #3.

Any DF updates? Naw... nothing major. Just that the Gut Splitter is available for purchase.

Looks like it's the usual "LE Milking" again... -_-"

Alright, I guess that's all that I thought was worth pointing out today. I'll see to getting these done... hopefully...

-2015-

Hi there!

Just dropping by the ol' DF blog of mine.

Erm, this is not really an update at all, tis' more of a "necro bump" to the blog...

Since the only "updates" going on in Dead Frontier are the Christmas Events. That "infected reindeer" and a bunch of "Elite Presents" for purchase are all the update so far in the game.

Oh... looks like I was several weeks behind schedule. Awkward...

Nevermind then. I'm sure some interesting updates will arrive in DF, sooner or later.

Well, time for some dose of WoT! < Next update will be 'bout this.

Oh, and happy 2015!

Upcoming Weapons [plus armor & clothing] - Part 2

Alright, back to the updates.

Last on the Weapons List are the explosives. [grenade launchers]

6. Explosives

This thing's name is the Boomer PX. This is the highest damaging grenade launcher created. Looks similar to...

The Plasma Rifle from Fallout 3/NV. Maybe not to others, but it kinda looks like it to me.

Now we venture to the various armor that will be on their way to DF.

7. Armor & Clothing

First, we'll start off with the meshes. [light armor/ no strength]

Hazard Mesh's the name. The first mesh to have 80% Damage Absorption, which is equal to the Exterminator Reactive XT... but not for the Durability, for course. Now for the mask...

Looks creepy, like a murderer. But overall, what do I think the armor resembles?

This, the HEV Suit from the Half Life series. Maybe not, but the fact that both looks alike in a small way.

Time for the heavy armor. [100 strength]

The Scarab Reactive. First non Dusk armor to get 90% absorption. The mask...

Now this definitely resembles another mask. A LOT. A lot like...

The Remnants Power Helmet from Fallout New Vegas, and also from Fallout 2.

The one from DF is only missing the tubes from the top and the filter on the side. The "mouth" is also closed. [if it can even be closed in the first place, 'cause it looks to be fixated]

Then, there's the ridiculously high durability armor...

The Vengeance Guard. Just look at the durability yourself. And also, the mask...

Doesn't remind me of any game I've played before, so yeah...

But wait! There's also another one...

This one has no name yet, as from what certain DF players said from the Leaked Updates forum page. The armor has not been coded into the game, but only it's picture exists. This one looks cool, but from the design, it COULD be a new Dusk gear, 'cause of the dark grey color it has.

Speaking of Dusk Gears, those gears have gotten a slight buff. I may not have gotten Dusk Gear yet, and I'm already quite unhappy that it has been missing it's share of TLC from Admin. They could be buffed more, or add plenty more Dusk Gear in.

This is because these gears are supposedly "the hardest gears to earn" in the game, as you have to have your LVL maxed out [220] or be the top PVP player to access the shop for a week. [i think it's a week]

But with the addition of new outrageous gears being added, the Dusk Set seems... underpowered. Sure, there's the Dusk Enforcer with infinite ammo, the 999 magazine and fast reload of the Dusk MAG and the 90% absorption of the Dusk Reactive... but still, the rest in the gear seems to be mostly ignored 'cause they don't have any special abilities that attracts people.

Hell, people now even go for the GAU instead of the Dusk MAG just because it's on sale again.

Several new bosses are going to join the game sometime in the game, like Flaming Dogs, Longarms and even Flaming Black Titans.

The last one is just speculation, but if it's true, then it's outrageous. Double everything you got from the Black Titan and this is what you'll get.

Instead of repeating zombie models, why not add some work to the new bosses? Like I dunno... the return of the Behemoth, perhaps? Add crows like in 2D to go along with the Dogs? New exterior/ interior instead of the usual looking ones? Add back that one special Helicopter Crash Site from 2D? [not those crashed Apaches]

Or maybe Public Toilets?

Whatever it is, we can't really do anything about it. Only the Admin can.

I guess that's all now. See ya next time....
