2018's Late Post

Happy late 2018...

It's been about a month plus from New Years, and about 2 months plus since the last post on this blog. tons of shit to do...

Normally I'll be posting updates regarding Dead Frontier 2, but everything's been going pretty normal at the moment.

The posts on the Creaky Corpse blog reminds me of the ol' Dead Frontier 3D progression updates; lists that show what has been completed and not done/to be done yet... y'know, normal stuff.

It seems I'm not the only one hit with the 'January Rush' of 2018, as Admin also has been affected as well... the game has three roads it can choose to go because of IRL stuff to do. I would personally go for Option C as a game delayed to make it complete is better than a rushed mess. That said, delays can also affect a game... some may not be patient enough and may leave.

Option B is also a good choice, sorta like a 'Closed Beta' kinda thing. Smaller group of players to manage would make it better to get feedback compared to the 'Early Access' route of Option A. Those words are now as bad as 'Microtransactions' and 'Lootboxes' and will deter tons of people away, not to mention bring negativity towards the game's reputation.

But there seems to be early screenshots that we get to see... all of them are interiors, as Admin is concentrating on those first. A good decision, as that way we won't get the same problems that happened during the early DF3D days... took a long time to get interiors to arrive to the game for that one.

Anyways, the screenshots...

Note the crosshair.

So this is the first screenshot, and we can already see how the game's gonna look like. 'Over-the-shoulder' perspective; AKA 'Third Person' but much closer to the character. No more 'Bird's View' or 'Top-Down' perspectives here...

A dark, long corridor...

You can see how dark this game is gonna be, as the flashlight doesn't really light up that far. Plenty of surprises to be having in the buildings... the graphics also look current gen, but it won't be tasking your computer that much... maybe a little bit higher than Dead Frontier 3D, but will still be pretty good.

Somewhat of a close shot of the character.

I like the new effects this game will be having... really makes it stand out more. Player customization will be even more fleshed out than the previous game, and it'll all be a welcome addition for the players.

This isn't all of the screenshots... so if you want more of them, head over to the original post made at the Creaky Corpse blog.

Game's looking good, and by starting out with the Interiors, that means we won't have to worry about it coming down the line instead. More to show for the players = more variety and in turn less boredom.

And that's all there is for me. As always, checking out the official blog will give you more insight on the upcoming game, so it's a good idea to do so if you haven't been there yet. And with that, I'm taking my leave...
