Three Freakin' Months

Yup, that long.

Except this is the Dead Frontier Blog, so it's actually four months, not three.

It's been a long time, but it's good to be back once again. It's seems that everything is pretty much the same in Dea-

WAIT WUT?! An actual fuckin' update for Dead Frontier?!

I thought that day would never arrive again. Seriously.

But it's good that I'm wrong about it. It looks like there's going to be some new content that's going to be updated to the game sometime in the future. But now we can run the game at our desktops? I guess that's kinda of an improvement.

Aaaaand of course, the usual monthly Limited Edition weapons and armor. Can't be Dead Frontier without it.

Hmm... It also seems that the mighty Wraithkanone is available for purchase. But the price... my god.

No way on Earth or in Heaven or Hell or the Universe am I ever gonna fork out that much for a weapon. No. Fucking. Way. EVER.

It's also the unlimited ammo version. That gun costs around $800 [or more!] in my currency. That's just ridiculous. I mean, the other stuff were high costing but some were already boderline expensive. This one takes the whole damn cake... No, the whole damn bakery filled with cakes.

I guess after being away so long doesn't really change Dead Frontier that much. I estimate this game becoming dead in less than five years. Yes, somewhere below 2020. That'll truly take the 'Dead' from Dead Frontier.

Truth is, it's already started to suck midway through 3D DF era. Sad, but true for my case. Maybe most of it is due to the fact that I just like 2D DF more.

Anyways, I guess that was all the updates on Dead Frontier. It's great to be back, but damn it feels awful to see the death of Dead Frontier slowly coming true. I don't know when I'll be putting up the next post, but we'll see what I've got... same goes for Dead Frontier.

Enjoying While It Lasts

--This post is carried over from "Panzer Fist's Gaming Blog"--

Hello everyone... It's been a long time.

Long time indeed, about more than 25 days without a single post... and I have a reason for it.

Remember that in my previous post, I've mention that I don't have time to run a clan because "I have some really important stuff coming up in my life that will take up at least 2 years tops"?

Well, that stuff actually starts tomorrow. Let's just say it's a 'must do' over here.

It'll be long and tiring, but you get to go back home every weekend.

Now this doesn't really interfere with me playing games, recording videos or posting on blogs. I've decided that it's time to change certain things in my life. Don't worry, nothing too major. I'll still be doing what I'll normally do, just not so much anymore.

With that in mind. I'll be gone starting from the 28th of May to... whenever it is I'll be back.

And as the title says: I've been spending my days doing the usual stuff, playing games.

Even on this last day, I've even gotten to enjoy a fresh new episode of my favorite anime, and even managed to play Armored Warfare. Today's the Early Access for Europe Servers at 6pm... which is a bad time, 'cause over here, it translates to exactly midnight. This is because I'm gonna need to be at the area tomorrow quite early and well-rested.

But since this is the last day for me, and technically the first AND last day for me to play Armored Warfare... I might as well sacrifice some hours for it.

...and also for the blog posts... and also for my favorite gem of an anime.

So I guess that's it then. No videos on Armored Warfare though, for obvious reasons. I can give you the first hand experience, though. [sounds wrong] The game is good, but because I'm nowhere near Europe, it's up to 300+ ping. There's also a bug where the aiming is extremely sensitive in Sniper Mode. [or zoomed-in mode] Only played about five battles, but at least it's something... not nothing.

Sorry if this seems rushed, but it has to be... 'cause I really need to sleep now. I'll bid Adieu until then... and see ya'll soon.

Oh, and there's only new a new armor and two new weapons on sale... so I didn't really missed anything from Dead Frontier.

Four Days of Eggs

It's been some time now.

Quick update: I'm not dead yet. Been playing the 2015 Easter Evisceration Event.

No recorded videos of it, sorry. Been busy hunting down Eggheads each day, trying to get as much as I can collect. My last Egg Hunt was on Monday, 'cause I can't be bothered to do it in the "early hours of Tuesday April 7th"...

If you don't know, the Easter Evisceration Event let's you hunt down a 'Special Infected' called the 'Egg Head'. By the name, they are zombies with giant eggs on their heads. They have the body of a Burned Male/Female Zombie and have a Yellow colored egg on their heads.

Has quite comparable health to the Burning Zombie, except that they explode on death. If you survive long enough from the tsunami of zombies coming in, you can loot the bodies to find an 'Easter Egg' among the chaos that is happening in the area.

The zombies themselves give quite a chunk of EXP. So if you're not into Egg Hunting, you can just get some extra Levels by just killing them over and over. I know I did in the last day.

Other stuff that happens on the event are Marketplace Item crashes/inflation, Double EXP [even for missions] eat egg shaped candies that give you damage boosts, lazing around in the chat for Egghead sightings, AFKing in Egghead zones while the others do the work, looting eggs or die trying and hoarding Easter Eggs for collection purposes... hoping that the price for these eggs will rise through the roofs a few months time.

Just too damn tired by then. So far the items you can get from these 'Easter Eggs' are in the list below.

List is arranged to the most rare to the most common.

Top Hat
475 Magnum
Alpha Bull
Nodachi
Easter Candy
-----
Candy
Teddy Bear
Doll

The line there separates between the good stuff and the occasional junk you might find.

These are what I've gotten from the numerous Easter Eggs I've opened. There's been some talk that you can get a Vulcan from it, but I don't believe those rumors.

Well, it's been a good Easter Event. I know they are pretty much recycled, but it's better than nothing I guess. Be seeing ya'll in the next post! [whenever that will be!]

Blog Changes

Hello everyone,

It's great to be back here! Although I've never been anywhere...

Anyways, I'm here to tell you guys about the small change that I've done to all of the blogs... that is bigger video screens.

The YouTube linked videos now are much bigger compared to the minuscule versions from the past. All it needs is a little post editing in the HTML. Seems that there's a TON of fancy stuff that can be edited in the blogs...and I know this ain't a new thing and yes, I sound like an old man...or hippy.

But, I only chose the ones that can benefit these blogs better, like bigger video screens for example.

This doesn't mean that there won't be anymore changes, and it certainly doesn't meant that I'm gonna add everything and anything. That'll be bland or in the second case, a clusterfuck.

Hope this small little adjustment benefits you people viewing the videos around here! Catch ya next time!

...soon hopefully.

New Dead Frontier Video?

Very quick notice,

Dead Frontier video has been cancelled. Don't really feel like doing one right now, but I'll see if one will be made in the future... whenever that will be.

Reason? DF seems very stale nowadays. Barely any updates... AS IN REAL ACTUAL UPDATES, not "new weapons" or those bloody recycled events. Even last year's Christmas event was as boring as the others. Sorry.

Ah well, maybe the DF video will just be mission tips... like those old DF videos I have in my current YouTube account.

Video Tests

Well now,

So far, I've tested with only two video recording software: FRAPS and Bandicam. Tested them in Dead Frontier and you can see the results below.

FRAPS:

Bandicam:

I guess these might be my only recording software I'll use. Bandicam for lengthy and more focused gameplay and FRAPS for quality, 'cause FRAPS always generate a big file. 800 MB per minute for FRAPS while only 150 MB for Bandicam.

The advantages of using FRAPS are crisp video footage, but drawbacks are big file size and affect your game/program a lot. When playing a game, you might get 30 FPS instead of the usual 60 FPS... so that's a big NO if you're recording... let's say a seriously competitive game like COD or WOT and if you have a weak computer.

Advantages of Bandicam are nearly unnoticeable effect it has on your frame rate and small size. Disadvantages are quite blurry recorded videos and sometimes minor stuttering while recording.

There's one more that I thought I'll give a try at, and that is Dxtory. It fuctions like Bandicam, with the unnoticeable frame drops and like FRAPS, with the crisp video footage.

Downsides are files that are almost as big as a FRAPS recorded video... and that it costs quite expensive, too... like 25 euros expensive? [so i've been told?]

But yeah, I guess that can be for another time. As of now it's these two.

"What about Hypercam?" you might ask? Lemme give you my answer:

NO.

Have a lot of bad memories with that one. Very poor video quality only makes it good for tutorial videos. You can see the results of using them in the older DF videos.

I guess that's it, then. Now I just need to make these DF videos and upload them to YouTube... whenever that is gonna be.

Quick Notice

Hello folks,

Just some quick notes here:

1. Now testing with multiple game recording software for best quality [and small size]

2. A new DF video will be uploaded, probably this February.

3. That WoT video? Delayed. A friend of mine apparently wants to make one too.

The most quick thing relating to WoT will probably be a post about it, not sure when I'll get around to doing one. Videos of it will be as stated in #3.

Any DF updates? Naw... nothing major. Just that the Gut Splitter is available for purchase.

Looks like it's the usual "LE Milking" again... -_-"

Alright, I guess that's all that I thought was worth pointing out today. I'll see to getting these done... hopefully...

-2015-

Hi there!

Just dropping by the ol' DF blog of mine.

Erm, this is not really an update at all, tis' more of a "necro bump" to the blog...

Since the only "updates" going on in Dead Frontier are the Christmas Events. That "infected reindeer" and a bunch of "Elite Presents" for purchase are all the update so far in the game.

Oh... looks like I was several weeks behind schedule. Awkward...

Nevermind then. I'm sure some interesting updates will arrive in DF, sooner or later.

Well, time for some dose of WoT! < Next update will be 'bout this.

Oh, and happy 2015!
